Peace Corps volunteer

Nathalie Boittin is a Peace Corps volunteer working in the new Girls' Education and Empowerment program in a small village in Burkina Faso, in West Africa.

She is working with groups of women to start savings and credit groups to fund small enterprise development, and to raise awareness on health and hygiene issues. She is also working with groups of school-aged girls to teach them life skills.

Other projects may be added as Ms. Boittin conducts an ongoing review of the village’s needs and priorities, as well as the effectiveness of onoing programs in addressing local development challenges. She will be in Burkina Faso until October 2007.

Nathalie Boittin graduated from the University of Chicago in 2004 with a degree in physics and a minor in Germanic studies.
