Greg Austin

Professorial Fellow, EastWest Institute

Greg Austin is a Professorial Fellow at the EastWest Institute (which has offices in New York, Brussels and Moscow).

He took up this post in January 2012 after serving with distinction as a Vice President in the Institute for five and a half years. He has held senior assignments in public policy, including in government, journalism and academia. He has also held senior posts in the International Crisis Group (Brussels/New York/Washington) and the Foreign Policy Centre (London).

Mr. Austin is the author of several books on China’s strategic policy, one of which was translated into Chinese for internal circulation inside the government. He is currently also a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of War Studies in King’s College London.

He has post-graduate qualifications in international affairs, including a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in international law. He is an Australian citizen.
