Geetika Jain

Geetika Jain is a travel writer for Conde Nast Traveller, India and for Mint Lounge, the Sunday magazine of the Indian business newspaper.

She has travelled extensively, from Greenland to Madagascar to Papua New Guinea, getting to know the locals, landscapes and the wilderness.

Her monthly column for Conde Nast Traveller, Far Out, threads together observations on how people in lesser-known cultures across the world live.

For her other monthly column, Sense of Wander, in Mint Lounge, Geetika writes about ideas worth sharing from around the world.

These have included the movable chattel houses of Barbados, man-made ice glaciers used to irrigate fields in India’s region of Ladakh, using the Japanese technique of Kintsugi to prolong the life of ceramics and Niue, the world’s first country to become a Dark Sky Preserve, emitting no light pollution.

Geetika has published over a dozen children’s books, the most recent ones being Wonderful Wildlife, an A-Z of Indian fauna and Delightful Delhi A-Z. Both published by Roli Books.

Geetika grew up in New Delhi where she studied English at St Stephen’s College. She currently divides her time between London and Delhi.
