Evgeny Morozov, a Belarussian, is a columnist for the Russian newspaper Akzia and director for new media with Transitions Online, where he promotes blogging, podcasting and other forms of citizen media in the countries of the former Soviet bloc.

Before moving to Berlin, where he now lives, he spent four years in the Balkans.
